Dick Morris makes a good point...
In his article, Dick suggests that the Republicans have a very strong anti-Hillary candidate in Condi Rice. Moreover, her legitimacy will only grow as she gains more exposure and sharpens her diplomacy skills as SoS. On the one hand, I am not a huge fan of her socially conservative hawkish beliefs. On the other hand, it would be a great step forward for our nation to have our two party system offer the masses two female candidates. Gender aside, these two competent candidates could revive the electorate from their post-2004 stupor. Will 2008 be the year the US finally takes a great leap forward???

Comments:
As far as I am concerned, Condi Rice is one of the strongest arguements I have ever seen against affirmative action. For all the talk about how she has Bush's ear, she never managed to use the NSA to mold our National Security posture. Before the Bush administration, she was essentially a fourth rate intellectual. This article, published in Foreign Affairs in 2000 and touted as the unofficial statement of Bush's intended foreign policy, demonstrates how thouroughly she misread the state of the world just one year before 9/11.

Frankly, I can't think of a much worse match up then Hillary and Condi. I have alot of respect for Hillary. I was particularly pleased with her recent statements on the democratic party and abortion rights. However, I think she is just to devicive a figure. Even if the Clinton genius managed to get her elected, the Republican hate machine would go to almost any length to destroy her, and we would be stuck watching that drama instead of having a full time leader.

Frankly, I could care less about the historical significance of two women running against each other. We should be looking for the best person for the job, period.

But Simon does make a case against her, Dani, just beyond that killer first sentence. Speaking of disappointing...

Dani is probably never going to see this but, here it is anyway: I stand fully behind my comment on Condi. She is a total incompetent who would never have made it to her current station in life if it weren't for her race and her gender. Period.
