So while I was looking at the horrible images of Falluja I remembered one of my favorite books on the subject of war images. Regarding the Pain of Others is one of Sontag's most powerful arguments, she reconsiders the idea of viewers becoming immune to this type of images.

Personally war images have an immense and continuing impact on me.

The book is a quick, profound read from one of America's most powerful, insightful photographic thinkers... Go get a copy


Sadly Sontag passed away recently at the age of 71.
